Zulvikar Syambani Ulhaq教授の研究室は、神経発達と神経炎症の分子メカニズムに焦点を当てた研究を推進しています。特に、ゾウリムフィッシュをモデルとして脳内エストロゲン産生酵素(AroB)の神経新生への影響を解明しており、セロトニン作動性ニューロンの発達と内分泌系の相互作用を解明しています。また、炎症関連遺伝子の多形性と神経疾患(パーキンソン病など)や眼疾患との関連についても、メタアナリシスや遺伝子型-フェノタイプ相関解析を通じて体系的な研究を実施しています。
