15CT images with non-round shape without capsule and prolonged enhancements may be used to differentiate AML with minimal fat from RCC.
MNP@SiO(2)(RITC)-PEG can be a useful contrast agent for stem cell imaging, which is suitable for a bimodal detection by MRI and optical imaging.
Resistance and compliance can alter the Doppler waveforms independently. The pulse rate is an extrinsic factor that also influences the RI. The compliance and distal resistance, as well as proximal resistance, influence the pulsus tardus and parvus phenomenon.
Irreversible electroporation has clinically been used to treat various types of cancer. A plan on how to apply irreversible electroporation before practicing is very important to increase the ablation area and reduce the side effects. Several electrical models have been developed to predict the ablation area with applied electric energy. In this experiment, the static relationship between applied electric energy and ablated area was mathematically and experimentally investigated at 10 hours afte
The urine CT attenuation ratio is a simple and reliable indicator with which to detect and lateralize significant RAS and is a useful adjunct to helical CTA.
The purpose of this study was to identify the ultrasonographic findings that reflected disease severity in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). In 72 patients with ADPKD, resistive indices (RIs) and the severity of ultrasonographic morphologic abnormalities, such as renal severity index (RSI), modified RSI and the sum of bilateral renal size, were measured and correlated with clinical and laboratory findings including the presence of hypertension and serum creatini
This simulation study using an electrical circuit model led to a better understanding of the renal arterial Doppler waveform and the RI, which may be useful for interpreting Doppler findings in various clinical settings.
The therapeutic potential of photobiomodulation (PBM) for Alzheimer's disease (AD) was evaluated by examining β-amyloid accumulation, microglial activation, and memory function. Mitochondrial delayed luminescence (m-DL), an indirect mitochondrial marker, was measured by irradiating 2 J/cm2 of 808 nm near-infrared light to the exposed brain surface of anesthetized 5XFAD mice. Based on m-DL findings, behavioral PBM was applied transcranially to the intact scalp using the same fluence at
Impairment caused by Doppler frequency shift and harsh channel condition distinguish underwater acoustic communications from radio communications. Slow speed of acoustic waves produces relatively high Doppler shift and result in expansion or compression in time samples, which is known as Doppler scaling. In particular, the Doppler scaling causes significant carrier frequency offset (CFO) in orthogonal frequency division modulation (OFDM). To compensate the CFO, it is essential to resample signal
Unlike necrosis by thermal ablation, irreversible electroporation (IRE) is known to induce apoptosis by disrupting plasma membrane integrity with electric pulses while preserving the structure of blood vessels and bile ducts in liver tissue without a heat sink effect. This study aimed to investigate thermal damage and histopathological effects in the porcine liver by high-frequency electric pulses (5 kHz) which is much higher than the widely used 1 Hz. The electric field and thermal distribution
