연구실 소개
신충호 교수의 연구실은 소아 내분비질환, 특히 갑상선암, 자가면역성 갑상선질환, 제1형 당뇨병 등 소아청소년기 질환의 유전적 기반과 대사 상태에 대한 기초 및 임상 연구를 중심으로 전개하고 있습니다. 특히 한국 청소년의 비타민 D 결핍, 철결핍, 자가면역질환의 유병률 및 관련 유전자 변이와의 연관성에 대한 다학제적 분석을 수행하며, 소아 내분비학 분야의 정밀의료 기반을 마련하고자 합니다. 또한, 면역조절 기전과 T세포 기능 이상이 관련된 질환의 분자 기전 규명에도 주력하고 있습니다.

15We observed a significant increase in the T1DM incidence. This increase was higher in boys than in girls, and was highest in children aged 0-4 yr. Studies are needed to evaluate the long-term epidemiological trend of T1DM incidence.
The pathological characteristics and recurrence rates of pediatric thyroid cancer have not changed over 33 years. Although younger patients present with more advanced disease, multifocality rather than age at diagnosis predicted recurrence. Recurrence was higher in pediatric than adult patients with multifocal papillary thyroid cancer.

This is the first study to report genotype and phenotype correlations among Korean patients with CHI. Mutations in ABCC8 and KCNJ11 are the most common causes of CHI in Korean patients. Similar to other studies, there is marked genetic heterogeneity and no clear genotype-phenotype correlation.
