우리나라 교사교육의 문제점이 실제보다는 이론 중심, 현장보다는 교사교육기관 중심의 교사양성 프로그램에 있다는 진단과 함께, 이러한 교사교육 프로그램의 개선을 위한 한 방향으로 교사를 ‘반성적 실천인(reflective practitioner)'으로 양성해내야 한다는 의견이 널리 받아들여지고 있다. 이를 위해서는 예비교사들로 하여금 자신의 실천적 경험에 대한 수준 높은 반성을 할 수 있도록 훈련시킬 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구는 우선 예비교사들이 현장실습 중 자신의 실습경험에 대해 기록한 저널을 통하여 우리나라 예비교사들이 현장에서의 실제적 경험과 관련된 반성의 수준과 구체적 내용에 대한 경험적 이해를 목적으로 하였다. 28명의 실습생들에게 4주간의 중등학교 실습기간 동안 교실에서의 경험에 대한 저널을 기록하도록 한 후, Hatton과 Smith의 모형을 수정한 6단계 모형에 의해 저널의 반성적 수준을 평가하고, Bain의 모형을 활용한 분석틀에 의해 그 내용을 검토하였다. 실습생들의

본 논문은 요즈음 우리나라 학교현장에서 자주 목격되는 교사 간, 교사와 학생 간, 교사와 학부모 간의 갈등이 사회문제화 되는 것에 주목하며 이에 적절히 대처할 수 있는 교사의 새로운 교직윤리의 정립을 위하여 예비적인 실험적 탐색을 시도한다. 이 실험적 탐색의 핵심적 과제는 학교현장에서 직접 수집된 교사들의 도덕적 딜레마 사례들을 전문직 윤리와 천직 윤리 혹은 공적 윤리와 사적 윤리의 갈등이라는 관점에서 분석하여 새로운 교직윤리의 성격을 논하고 이것의 정립에 필요한 공적 준거에 대한 논의를 요청하는 것이다. 본 논문이 학교 현장으로부터의 구체적 사례들의 분석을 통하여 도달한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 새로운 교직윤리는 오늘날 상호 갈등하는 것같이 보이는 전문직 윤리와 천직 윤리 혹은 공적 윤리와 사적 윤리를 모두 그 원천으로 하는 통합적 성격이어야 한다. 둘째, 통합적 성격의 교직윤리는 교사에게 상황에 따라 교육적 관점에서 이 두 윤리 중 하나를 취사선택할 줄 아는 실천적 판단을 요

본 논문은 최근 우리나라에서 뜨겁게 논의되고 있는 창의성 혹은 상상력 교육담론의 정당성을 교육 내적 원리에 근거할 수 있는 가능성을 찾는다. 이것은 상상력과 합리성을 서로 대비되는 것으로 바라보는 우리의 근대적 편견을 바로 잡고 이 둘을 통합적으로 고려하는 교수․학습의 원리를 정립하는 데 기여하려는 시도이다. 이를 위해 상상력 개념을 철학사적으로 검토한 캐나다의 교육철학자 키렌 이건의 논의를 재구성하며 교육적으로 주목할 만한 상상력의 개념과 그것의 핵심적 특징을 탐색해 본다. 그리고 이러한 상상력 개념이 교수․학습의 맥락에서 의미하는 바를 고찰하기 위하여 고등정신능력의 발달에서 상상력이 차지하는 역할을 탐색한 러시아의 발달심리학자이자 문화기호학자인 비고츠키의 논의를 집중적으로 분석한다. 여기서는 특히 상상력이 개념적 사고의 발달과 어떤 관련성이 있는지 살펴봄으로서 입시위주의 우리나라 지식교육의 병폐를 진단하고 처방할 수 있게 하는 교수․학습적 관점의 이론적 토대를 모색한다. 그리고

본 논문은 근대 교육에 내재한 상호 상충하는 두 가지 목적, 즉 사회화와 개별화에 기원이 있는 교육적 역설의 문제를 해명하는 한 가지 방식을 제시하고, 교육실천에서 이 문제를 교육 불가능성이 아닌 오히려 교육적 계기로 다룰 수 있는 교육이론의 가능성을 탐색한다. 이를 위해 먼저 전통적 자유교육론을 재해석한 오크쇼트의 자유교육론을 교육적 역설의 관점에서 비판적으로 검토한다. 그리고 오크쇼트의 자유교육론을 좀더 일관되게 설명하고 보완하기 위해 소크라테스의 무지의 자각 개념을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 교육적 역설의 문제를 (자유) 교육에 필수적인 것으로 해명하는 마이클 울젠스의 논의를 따라가며, 주체성과 상호주체성의 개념을 중심으로 한 후기근대 (자유)교육론의 이론적 발전 가능성을 개념적으로 탐색해 본다.
