연구실 소개
김의석 교수의 연구실은 감염병의 임상적 진행 양상과 면역 반응을 중심으로, 코로나19와 메르스 등 중동호흡증후군바이러스(MERS-CoV)와 같은 급성 호흡기 감염병의 병태생리학을 규명하고자 합니다. 특히 바이러스의 병원성, 면역응답의 시계열적 변화 및 치료 반응에 대한 정밀한 분석을 통해 임상적 대처 전략을 모색하고 있습니다. 또한 항생제 내성, 특히 퀸올론 계열 항생제의 내성 메커니즘과 임상적 영향에 대해서도 깊이 있는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.

15The prodromal symptoms of COVID-19 were mild and most patients did not have limitations of daily activity. Viral shedding from URT was high from the prodromal phase. Radiological pneumonia was common from the early days of illness, but it was frequently not evident in simple CXR. Hospital evaluation using clinical performance indicators can considerably improve the use of SAP. Further studies are warranted to investigate whether this hospital evaluation will decrease the development of SSIs.
Though persistent KpB is uncommon, follow-up blood culture was performed in as many as 80% of the cases in this study. A more careful clinical assessment is warranted to reduce the cost and patient inconvenience involved in follow-up blood culture.
We used several molecular typing methods to analyze 196 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and 139 methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) isolates collected between 1996 and 2005. The sequence type 72 MRSA has increased in frequency in the community in the Republic of Korea and in hospitals in recent years.

Plasmid-encoded protein QnrB1 protects DNA gyrase from ciprofloxacin inhibition. Using a bacterial two-hybrid system, we evaluated the physical interactions between wild-type and mutant QnrB1, the GyrA and GyrB gyrase subunits, and a GyrBA fusion protein.
