15RE is a safe and effective treatment option in cases of recanalized or recurrent aneurysms. Close follow-up evaluation is essential in patients with intracranial aneurysms after coil embolization.
Our findings suggest that the presence of a G/C heterozygous genotype at position -418 in TIMP2 promoter could be a genetic predisposing factor for FMMD.
3D angiography allowed us to detect more residual aneurysms after surgical clip placement than did conventional DSA, although none of those detected on only 3D angiography were judged to require additional treatment. 3D angiography may provide baseline data for the long-term follow-up of postsurgical aneurysms.
In this study, the incidence of recanalization was not different in aneurysms treated with PGLA-coated coils compared with historical controls treated with bare platinum coils.
Clopidogrel premedication seems to have a beneficial effect in reducing the number of procedure-related thromboembolisms during coil embolization for unruptured intracranial aneurysms, especially in female patients. Smoking and hyperlipidemia were independent risk factors related to thromboembolism.
Intra-arterial tirofiban delivery appears to be a safe and effective treatment modality when thromboembolism is encountered during the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms.
Analysis of LSAs with RA and 3D reconstructed images may provide useful information in patients with cerebrovascular diseases, especially before surgical and endovascular treatment.
With adequate culture conditions, SPCs could be established from the peripheral blood of patients with MMD. These cells showed specific DEGs compared with healthy control volunteers. This study provides a novel experimental cell model for further research of MMD.
HydroCoil embolization seems to be a feasible treatment option in intracranial aneurysms in terms of initial aneurysmal occlusion rate and durability at the time of the follow-up evaluation; however, caution is required regarding aseptic meningitis and delayed hydrocephalus. Calculated aneurysmal volume of 600 mm3 seems to be critical in determining the anatomic outcome in aneurysms embolized with HydroCoils.
Use of low-dose PSG as an antiplatelet premedication is quick, effective, and safe for stent-assisted coil embolization of unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Prasugrel premedication significantly lowered the frequency of thromboembolic events without increasing the risk of hemorrhage.
Coil embolization is a safe and effective treatment modality in cases of AChA aneurysms. Coil embolization enables procedural recognition of arterial compromise and immediate reestablishment of flow, thus contributing to a favorable outcome.
Abstract BACKGROUND Antiplatelet premedication is widely accepted for interventional treatment of cerebral aneurysms to prevent thromboembolism. However, antiplatelet resistance sometimes limits the effectiveness of premedication. OBJECTIVE To compare 2 groups administered low-dose prasugrel (PSG group) or clopidogrel-based tailored antiplatelet (CPG group) in terms of platelet function and procedure-related complications. METHODS A total of 411 patients with 505 unruptured aneurysms who underwe
The incidence of CAS-associated ICH was significantly lower in series consisting of >100 cases. More caution should be directed toward patients with symptomatic lesions, severe stenosis, maximal ICA stenosis distal to the carotid bifurcation, and preexisting cerebral infarction.
