연구실 소개
김형관 교수 연구실은 심장 질환의 조기 진단과 예방, 특히 심방세동과 삼차판역류, 비만 및 대사 이상이 연관된 허혈성 심장질환의 진행 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 심장기능 유지와 수술적 개입의 최적 시기 결정을 위한 영상유도 생리학적 분석 및 운동 활동의 심혈관계 영향에 대한 장기적 관찰 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 최근에는 아시아 인구를 대상으로 한 허혈성 심장질환 유병률의 추세 분석과 청소년기부터의 지질 이상 관리의 중요성에 주목하고 있습니다.

15AF predisposes patients undergoing mitral valve surgery to the progression of TR, which can be prevented by MAZE. This additional benefit of MAZE is largely dependent on the restoration and maintenance of atrial mechanical function.
Successful TR surgery can remarkably reduce RV volumes and preserve RV systolic function. In addition, successful TR surgery led to a significant rise in LV preload and CI, which may significantly contribute to a significant amelioration in the functional capacity of the patients. It seems that RV volume measurement by CMR is helpful for determining optimal timing for TR surgery.
Moderate-to-vigorous-intensity PA, in a middle-aged population of patients with HCM, was associated with progressive reduction of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. The impact of vigorous-intensity PA on a younger age group requires further investigation.
Temporal trends of the prevalence and incidence of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) have not been well established in Asian populations. Using the Korean National Health Insurance Services database, we identified patients with a confirmed diagnosis of HCM between 2010 and 2016. For statin-naïve young adults, the risk of clinical events was proportional to lipid levels, positively with TC and triglycerides, negatively with HDL-C, and J-shaped with LDL-C. Triglycerides had an independent and the strongest association with the clinical events. Screening and intervention for abnormal lipid levels, particularly triglycerides, from an early age might be of clinical value.
We found that individuals with obesity and/or metabolic abnormalities had a significantly higher incidence of clinical HCM diagnosis than their counterparts. Efforts to manage obesity and metabolic abnormalities may be important in modifying clinical expression of HCM.
LV-GLS is an important prognosticator in patients with HCM and provides additional information to established risk stratification strategies for predicting SCD.
