This article explores the performance of a Bayesian application of spatial voting models to the roll calls of the Fifth European Parliament (EP). Focusing on two distinct voting behaviours of members of the EP (MEPs) — high absenteeism and the defection from majority alternatives caused by the influence of national parties — it shows that the Bayesian method is complementary to the standard NOMINATE method. 본 연구는 한국 유권자가 지닌 이념성향의 다차원적 특성과 그 정치적 효과를 분석한다. 특히이념성향이 통일의 필요성 인식에 미치는 영향력을 중심으로 사례분석을 시행함으로써 다차원적 이념경쟁의 특징을 규명한다. 이를 위해 2002년부터 2016년까지 여섯 번의 설문을 통해 조사된 정책선호에 대하여 요인분석(factor analysis)을 실시하고, 그 결과를 통일의 필요성 인식에 미치는 이념성향의 영향력을 검증하는데 활용하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 한국 유권자의 이념성향은 진보/보수로 구분된 일차원적 경쟁공간에 수렴하기보다는 대북정책을 포함한 정치, 사회 영역의 정책에 대한선호를 중심으로 한 이념성향과 경제영역의 정책에 대한 선호를 중심으로 한 이념성향이 구분되는다차원성을 지닌다. 또한 통일의 필요성 인식에 유의미한 영향력을 지닌 이념성향은 전자만이 해당하였다. 이러한 결과는 한국 사회의 이념갈등은 진보/보수의 일차원적 대립보다는 각 정책영역별 이해관계의 대립을 세분화함으로써 이해될 필

본 연구는 2022년 대선 과정에서 한국 청년층이 보수화되었는지를 검증하고자 한다. 생애주기 이론에 배치되는 청년층의 보수화에 대한 논의는 기존 연구에서 엄밀히 검토되지 않았을 뿐 아니 라 세대와 시점의 영향력을 통제해야 한다는 난제를 안고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구는 2012년 이후 세 차례 대선 과정에서 드러난 이념성향과 투표행태의 유사성을 바탕으로 청년층의 범주화를 시도한다. 그리고 이들의 보수성향과 연령, 세대, 시점과의 관계를 분석한다. 연구결과는 세 차례 대선과정에서 유사한 이념성향과 투표행태를 통해 청년층으로 범주화할 수 있는 집단은 2022년 현재 34세 이하인 1988년 이후 출생자로 보는 것이 가장 타당하는 것을 보여준다. 다만, 이들 청년층의 내적이질성으로 인해 청년층 전체의 보수화를 주장하는 것의 타당성은 낮았다. 오히 려 청년층의 보수화는 대선 시점의 영향력에 종속되었으며, 1988년부터 1992년 출생 세대만이 유 일하게 일관되게 보수성향을 강화해온

This paper presents a GPU based ray marching algorithm for real-time rendering of participating media. We fire a ray at each pixel being shaded on the cube surface, and then we find an intersection between the ray and inner-volume recorded by a 3D texture, using both linear and binary searches.
