이 교수의 연구실은 환경 및 자동차 기술 분야에서 지속가능한 기술 개발을 주요 목표로 삼고 있습니다. 비공기압 타이어의 구조적 특성과 내구성 향상을 위한 스폰지 형상 최적화, 역삼투압 막의 생물막 오염 메커니즘 분석, 침투성 포장재의 막힘 및 복원성 평가 등 실생활 환경 문제 해결을 위한 응용 연구를 중심으로 진행되고 있습니다. 특히, 해수 담수화 공정의 효율성 향상과 도시 홍수 방지 기술 개발을 통해 환경 보존과 기술 혁신을 동시에 추구하고 있습니다.
