연구실 소개
김종일 교수의 연구실은 분자생물학과 유전자 조절 메커니즘을 중심으로, RNA 편집, DNA 복구, 항암제 후보 물질의 생리적 기전 등에 대한 기초 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 결장암에서의 RHOQ 단백질 편집이 세포 이동성과 침습성에 미치는 영향을 규명하며, 암 생물학적 기전을 밝혀내는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한 녹색 차의 주성분인 EGCG가 자외선 손상에 의한 노화를 억제하는 메커니즘과, 항암제 원천이 되는 아르테미신 생합성의 핵심 효소 작용에 대한 분자 기전 연구도 함께 진행하고 있습니다.

The RecA protein of Escherichia coli, and all filament-forming homologues identified to date, promote DNA strand exchange by a common, ordered pathway. Full length cDNAs encoding two acetylcholinesterases (AChEs; Bgace1 and Bgace2) were cloned and characterized from the German cockroach, Blattella germanica. Sequence analyses showed that both genes possess all the typical features of ace, and that Bgace1 is orthologous to the insect ace1 whereas Bgace2 is to the insect ace2.
