연구실 소개

박종완 교수의 연구실은 암의 성장과 전이를 조절하는 핵심 신호전달 경로, 특히 β-catenin과 HIF-신호 경로의 상호작용을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 저산소 상태에서 활성화되는 HIF-1α 및 HIF-2α가 세포 전이 및 암성 성질에 미치는 영향과, 이를 조절하는 단백질 상호작용 메커니즘을 규명하고자 합니다. 또한 환경 유해물질에 의한 발암 메커니즘과 천연물질(예: 커큐민, EGCG)의 예방적 작용에 대한 분자 기전 연구도 함께 수행하고 있습니다.

The tumor-promoting factors β-catenin and hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) are often found to be coactivated in rapidly growing tumors. Recently, it was shown that HIF-1α negatively regulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling by sequestering β-catenin from β-catenin/T-cell factor (TCF).
