연구실 소개

채준석 교수의 연구실은 한국의 토착 병원성 병원체 및 출현·재출현 위협이 있는 감염병 원인체의 역학과 생물다양성을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 주로 유전자 분석, 분자진단법, 그리고 토양·동물·기생충을 통한 병원체 유통 경로를 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 라이프스타일과 기후 변화가 영향을 미치는 감염병의 생태학적 기반을 탐구하고 있습니다. 특히 한국에서 발견되는 에릭리히아, 안플라즈마, 락토바실러스 등 병원성 세균과 바이러스의 분포 및 진화를 다루며, 동물과 기생충을 통해 인간과 가축에 영향을 미치는 병원체의 전파 메커니즘을 규명하고자 합니다.

Sera from 491 Korean patients with acute febrile diseases were tested for Ehrlichia chaffeensis and Anaplasma phagocytophila antibodies by indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA), Western blotting, and TaqMan real-time PCR. The salivary gland (SG) of tick plays an important role as a route in the dissemination of tick-borne pathogens to their hosts.
