15The data demonstrate favorable outcomes for arthroscopic superior labral anterior and posterior lesion repair using the trans-rotator cuff portal. We suggest that the trans-rotator cuff portal is an efficient and safe portal for superior labral anterior and posterior lesion repair, although there are some valid concerns of damaging the cuff in patients with a superior labral anterior and posterior lesion with concurrent cuff disorders, as well as in older patients.

This study indicates the viability of employing CDM to undertake research on PJI and serves as a reference for future CDM-based risk factor analysis. Preoperative screening and mitigating identified risk factors can aid in the reduction of PJI following TJA.
As carpal tunnel syndrome is more common in women, particularly around the menopause, female-related risk factors are suspected to play a role in its pathogenesis. We have assessed whether female hormone-related symptoms are associated with upper extremity disabilities in women undergoing carpal tunnel release. A total of 92 women with a mean age of 53 years scheduled for surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome were assessed preoperatively for female hormone-related symptoms using the menopausal rati
The FETOR technique is an effective and safe method for the treatment of chronic recalcitrant medial epicondylitis.
Reduction and fixation of AITFL avulsion fracture obviated the need for syndesmotic screw fixation in more than 80% of patients with AITFL avulsion fracture and syndesmotic instability.
Patients with acute calcific periarthritis of the hand exhibited residual pain and calcification for a relatively prolonged period. Those who continued conservative treatment, including NSAIDs, showed pain relief and reduced calcification for up to 6 months. These results suggest that conservative treatment could be tried for at least 6 months before considering the surgical treatment of calcific periarthritis of the hand.
Although the overall kinematic pattern was similar between young and older females, reduced range of inter-segmental motion was observed in the older group. Our results suggest that age-related changes need to be considered in studies evaluating inter-segmental motion of the foot.
The K-MHQ was found to have a large degree of responsiveness after carpal tunnel release for Korean patients with CTS, which is comparable not only to the K-DASH, but also to the original version of the MHQ. The region-specific K-MHQ can be useful for outcomes research related to carpal tunnel surgery, especially for research comparing CTS with various other hand and wrist health conditions.
Synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon lesion of unknown etiology, characterized by progressive metaplasia associated with the formation of cartilage in the synovial membranes of joints, tendon sheaths, or bursae. Synovial chondromatosis is typically monoarticular and affects large joints such as the knee and hip, although it has also been described in the ankle, elbow, and shoulder. However, it rarely occurs in the wrist. Our literature review showed only 28 cases with wrist involvement, 13 cas
Elbow snapping by annular ligament is rare and may be difficult to diagnose, when this Epub ahead of print condition is not familiar. We report a case of elbow snapping by annular ligament diagnosed by ultrasonography, which was confirmed by arthroscopic observation. The ultrasonographic findings were thickening of the annular ligament and snapping in and out of the radiocapitellar joint during elbow flexion and extension on dynamic ultrasonography.
Proprioception is thought to be essential for normal joint homeostasis, and its decreased function has been associated with an increased risk of joint diseases. However, only a few studies have been performed on the association between proprioceptive function in the trapeziometacarpal joint (TMCJ) and osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to compare TMCJ proprioceptive function in elderly women with radiographic TMCJ osteoarthritis relative to age-matched control women without osteoarthr
