김기현 교수의 연구실은 천연물에서 유래한 생활학적 화합물의 약리적 기능과 그 응용을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 고삼, 베탈레인, 나탈라미신과 같은 천연물 성분의 생체 내 기전 규명과 함께, 나노베이스의 피부투과 전달 시스템인 인바노좀의 개발 및 응용에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한, 식물의 병원균 저항성 메커니즘과 눈의 상태 분류 기술 등 다학제적 접근을 통해 의료 및 생명과학 분야의 실용적 응용을 모색하고 있습니다.
