연구실 소개
이기원 교수의 연구실은 식물성 항산화 물질, 특히 폴리페놀 및 오메가-3 지방산 유사 화합물의 생리적 기능과 항암 작용 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 녹차, 코코아, 적포도주 등 천연 식품에 함유된 폴리페놀 성분이 세포 수준에서 산화 스트레스를 조절하고 암 발생을 억제하는 분자적 메커니즘을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한, 항암제 내성 세포에 효과를 보이는 유비퀴틴 특이성 프로테아제 USP8의 억제가 비소세포성 폐암 세포에 선택적으로 작용한다는 새로운 치료 타겟을 규명하며 암 치료 전략의 혁신을 모색하고 있습니다.
