연구실 소개

이장희 교수의 연구실은 뼈 형성과 분해의 균형을 조절하는 분자 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 RANKL/OPG 경로, HDAC 억제제, 세포 사멸 조절 인자, 그리고 히스톤 디아세틸화 조절 단백질을 통한 뼈 형성 조절 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 염증 반응과 연관된 단백질인 헤파토글로빈이 골다공로미아 등 뼈 질환에 미치는 영향을 규명하며, 뼈 대사 질환의 새로운 치료 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.

Histone deacetylases (HDACs) deacetylate both histones and nonhistone proteins and play a key role in the regulation of physiologic and aberrant gene expression. Inhibition of HDACs has emerged as a promising therapeutic target for cancer and neurologic diseases.
