연구실 소개
곽상인 교수의 연구실은 안과적 기형 및 외과적 재건 분야에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 중부면부 탈락, 눈꺼풀 기형(예: 에피블레파론), 그리고 각막 상피줄기세포 결핍과 같은 복잡한 안과 이상을 보완하는 수술적 치료법 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 고도의 정밀성과 안정성을 요구하는 눈 주변 해부학적 구조의 기능 회복을 목표로 하며, 생체재료를 사용하지 않은 생체재료 이식 기술과 약물치료(예:도xicycline)의 임상적 효과 평가 등 다학제적 접근을 통해 환자의 시력과 삶의 질 향상을 추구합니다. 특히 안면 구조의 생체학적 지지 메커니즘과 신경성 종양의 진단·치료에 대한 깊이 있는 임상·병리학적 연구도 진행 중입니다.

This retrospective study was launched to evaluate the efficacy of doxycycline and to find independent predictors of a clinical response in patients with ocular adnexal lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (OAML). The ancient schwannoma is a rare variant of a neurilemoma with a course typical of a slow-growing benign neoplasm. Histologically, it can be confused with a malignant mesenchymal tumor because of increased cellularity, nuclear pleomorphism, and hyperchromatism. Despite the degree of nuclear atypia, mitotic figures are absent. We describe the clinical and histopathologic features of an ancient schwannoma of the orbit.
The group with metastasis showed higher expression levels of Shh, ABCG2, and Wnt than did the group without metastasis, and patients with strong ABCG2 expression, Wnt, or LRP expression showed higher cumulative incidence of lymph node or distant metastasis, implying that activation of the Shh and Wnt signaling pathway is associated with aggressive behavior of the tumor.
With eyelid closure, the canalicular system contracts, and the superior portion of the lacrimal sac dilates; these may be important parts of the active lacrimal pump mechanism.
