Influence of electrode configurations on the quality factor and piezoelectric coupling constant of solidly mounted bulk acoustic wave resonators
Si‐Hyung Lee, Ki Hyun Yoon, Jeon-Kook Lee
SJR Q2FWCI 3.0Journal of Applied Physics

This article presents an electrode effect on the quality factor and effective coupling coefficient empirically and theoretically. The possible quality factor detractors in film bulk acoustic wave resonator devices are the acoustic wave attenuation in the metal and piezoelectric films, the wave scattering loss due to the surface roughness, and the electrode electrical loss. Due to the small acoustic wave attenuation of the Mo electrode, the composite Mo–AlN–Mo resonator with the thick electrode p

Intrinsically unfolded proteins (IUPs) do not obey the golden rule of structural biology, 3D structure = function, as they manifest their inherent functions without resorting to three-dimensional structures. Absence of a compact globular topology in these proteins strongly implies that their ligand recognition processes should involve factors other than spatially well-defined binding pockets. Heteronuclear multidimensional (HetMulD) NMR spectroscopy assisted with a stable isotope labeling techno

Growth of highly <i>c</i>-axis textured AlN films on Mo electrodes for film bulk acoustic wave resonators
Si‐Hyung Lee, Jeon-Kook Lee, Ki Hyun Yoon
SJR Q2FWCI 5.9Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A Vacuum Surfaces and Films

Highly c-axis textured AlN films on Mo could be obtained using the structural modification of Mo thin films by the reactive rf magnetron sputtering at a low temperature. The correlation of structural properties of Mo and the degree of c-axis texturing in AlN films was studied as a function of sputtering pressure during the dc sputter deposition of Mo. The microstructure and residual stress of Mo films were found to be very dependent on the sputtering pressure. As the pressure decreases and the s

SJR Q1FWCI 4.7Wound Repair and RegenerationOA

Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) exerts positive therapeutic effects on hair thickness and density in patients with pattern hair loss. The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy of intra-perifollicular autologous PRP and polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) injections in treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL). Twenty FPHL patients were treated with a single session of PRP injection, followed by 12 sessions of PDRN intra-perifollicular injection, along the scalp at weekly intervals. Addit

SJR Q1FWCI 3.1Frontiers in ChemistryOA

In the interdisciplinary research field of chemical biology and drug discovery, diversity-oriented synthesis (DOS) has become indispensable in the construction of novel small-molecule libraries rich in skeletal and stereochemical diversity. DOS aims to populate the unexplored chemical space with new potential bioactive molecules via forward synthetic analysis. Since the introduction of this concept by Schreiber, DOS has evolved along with many significant breakthroughs. It is therefore important

SJR Q1FWCI 3.5Acta OphthalmologicaOA

Various vascular and metabolic comorbidities were significantly associated with low-teen OAG, but not with high-teen OAG. These data support the hypothesis that vascular factors play a more significant role in the pathogenesis of OAG with low-teen baseline IOP.

Inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase expression by selective clearing of senescent dermal fibroblasts attenuates ultraviolet-induced photoaging

SJR Q1FWCI 9.3Biomedicine & PharmacotherapyOA

Photoaging mainly occurs due to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and is accompanied by increased secretion of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and degradation of collagen. UV radiation induces cell senescence in the skin; however, the role of senescent cells in photoaging remains unclear. Therefore, to elucidate the role of senescent cells in photoaging, we evaluated the effect of senolytics in a photoaging mouse model and investigated the underlying mechanism of their antiaging effect. Both UV-induc

Export of membrane proteins from the Golgi complex to the primary cilium requires the kinesin motor, KIFC1

SJR Q1FWCI 1.5The FASEB Journal

Microtubule-based motors contribute to the efficiency and selectivity of Golgi exit and post-Golgi transport of membrane proteins that are targeted to distinct compartments. Cytoplasmic dynein moves post-Golgi vesicles that carry rhodopsin toward the base of the connecting cilium in photoreceptor cells; however, the identity of the motors that are involved in the vesicular trafficking of ciliary membrane proteins in nonphotoreceptor cells remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the minus end-

Laser Photocoagulation Enhances Adeno-Associated Viral Vector Transduction of Mouse Retina
Si Hyung Lee, Peter Colosi, Heuiran Lee, Young-Hoon Ohn, Sung-Woon Kim, Hyung Woo Kwak, Tae Kwann Park
FWCI 2.0Human Gene Therapy Methods

Laser photocoagulation is a well-established treatment modality for retinal disease. Discrete laser burns can be placed anywhere in the retina, singly or multiply, and the burn intensity is controllable. This study investigates the effect of prior laser photocoagulation on the retinal transduction properties of intravitreally administered adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors. C57BL/6J mice were subjected to unilateral laser photocoagulation 48 hr before bilateral intravitreal injection of self-c

Adeno-Associated Viral Vector 2 and 9 Transduction Is Enhanced in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Mouse Retina

Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) are currently the most popular vector platform technology for ocular gene therapy. While transduction efficiency and tropism of intravitreally administered AAV has been fairly well established in various retinal conditions, its transduction pattern in diabetic retinas has not previously been characterized. Here, we describe the transduction efficiencies of four different AAV serotypes, AAV2, 5, 8, and 9, in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mouse retinas after
