연구실 소개
최수연 교수의 연구실은 고혈압, 대사증후군, 비알코올성간지방증(NAFLD) 등 대사질환과 관련된 유전적·분자적 기전을 규명하고, 동맥경화성 변화와 심혈관계 노화의 생물학적 기전을 밝히는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히, CAVI를 통한 동맥경화성 변화의 정량적 평가와 함께, miRNA에 의한 SHANK3 조절 메커니즘을 통해 신경정신질환의 기전을 탐색하고 있습니다. 이와 더불어 노화와 운동이 심장 기능에 미치는 영향을 실험동물 모델을 통해 분석하며, 심혈관계 질환의 조기 진단 및 예방 전략 개발에 기여하고 있습니다.

15Metabolic syndrome (MetS) which is caused by obesity and insulin resistance, is well known for its predictive capability for the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. The development of MetS is associated with multiple genetic factors, environmental factors and lifestyle. NAFLD plays a role in the early development of CAC, but not the progression. Ultrasonographic severity of NAFLD is dose-dependently associated with CAC development in subjects with a CAC score of 0 at baseline, independent of traditional risk factors.
Our study provides new insight into the miRNA-mediated regulation of SHANK3 expression, and its potential implication in multiple neuropsychiatric disorders associated with altered SHANK3 and miRNA expression profiles.
The CAVI scores increased with age in the healthy, normotensive individuals, whereas SBP, DBP and PP did not. Age was the dominant risk factor for the progression of arterial stiffness.
