연구실 소개

김태환 교수의 연구실은 철저한 분자생물학적 접근을 바탕으로 관절염, 특히 강직성 천수염증(AS)과 반응성 관절염의 병태생리학적 기전을 규명하고 있습니다. 주로 히스타민 복합체(HLA-B27)와 미생물 간의 상호작용, 그리고 단백질 합성과 대사 변화가 관절염 진행에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 특히 약물 반응성과 치료 타겟의 규명에도 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 최근에는 전통 약재의 생리활성 성분이 성기능 장애에 미치는 영향에 대한 임상 연구까지 확장하여 다학제적 연구를 펼치고 있습니다.

In ankylosing spondylitis and reactive arthritis, an interplay of microbe and major histocompatibility complex initiates a sequence of events resulting in chronic inflammation. In AS, elevated serum levels of CPII and the 846 epitope may be related to biosynthetic turnover of hyaline cartilage and the intervertebral discs but may also reflect progressive bone formation as a result of endochondral ossification. The correlation of the CPII:C2C ratio with CRP suggests that the CPII:C2C ratio might prove to be a useful marker of disease activity in AS.

The risk of TB was higher in the TNF blocker-naive AS cohort than it was in the general population. However, the risk of TB was not increased in the TNF blocker-exposed AS cohort compared with the TNF blocker-naive AS cohort.
