15The development of an efficient catalytic activation (cleavage) system for C-H and C-C bonds is an important challenge in organic synthesis, because these bonds comprise a variety of organic molecules such as natural products, petroleum oils, and polymers on the earth. Among many elegant approaches utilizing transition metals to activate C-H and C-C bonds facilely, chelation-assisted protocols based on the coordinating ability of an organic moiety have attracted great attention, though they have
Low output current represents a critical challenge that has interrupted the use of triboelectric nanogenerators (TNGs) in a wide range of applications as sustainable power sources. Many approaches (e.g., operation at high frequency, parallel stacks of individual devices, and hybridization with other energy harvesters) remain limited in solving the challenge of low output current from TNGs. Here, a nanocomposite material system having a superior surface charge density as a triboelectric active ma
Sound-driven power generation using nanogenerators based on piezoelectric ZnO nanowires has been demonstrated. Systematic investigations on the power-generating performance of sound-driven nanogenerators clearly support that the measured output voltage originated from the sound-driven nanogenerator. This study shows that sound can be one of promising energy sources when using highly efficient nanogenerators based on piezoelectric nanowires. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are
Recent advances in the understating of tumor immunology suggest that cancer immunotherapy is an effective treatment against various types of cancer. In particular, the remarkable successes of immune checkpoint-blocking antibodies in clinical settings have encouraged researchers to focus on developing other various immunologic strategies to combat cancer. However, such immunotherapies still face difficulties in controlling malignancy in many patients due to the heterogeneity of both tumors and in
A highly sensitive single-walled carbon nanotube/C60 -based infrared photo-transistor is fabricated with a responsivity of 97.5 A W(-1) and detectivity of 1.17 × 10(9) Jones at 1 kHz under a source/drain bias of -0.5 V. The much improved performance is enabled by this unique device architecture that enables a high photoconductive gain of ≈10(4) with a response time of several milliseconds.
This paper presents a retention/ pulse frequency modulation (PFM)/ pulse width modulation (PWM) mode dc–dc buck converter with adaptive zero current detector (AZCD) and spread spectrum clock generation (SSCG) for IoT/Wearable systems. The proposed dc–dc buck converter is capable of handling loads from 10 μA to 20 mA with high efficiency by applying triple mode (retention mode, PFM mode, and PWM mode), gate split technique, and AZCD. Retention mode is proposed to extend wide load range at ultrali
The growing interest in bioinspired and sustainable electronics has induced research on biocompatible and biodegradable materials. However, conventional electronic devices have been restricted due to their nonbiodegradable and sometimes harmful and toxic materials, which can even cause environmental issues. Here, we report a resistive switching random access memory (ReRAM) device based on lignin, which is a biodegradable waste product of the paper industry. The active layer of the device can be
We have shown the enhanced piezoelectricity by electrostatic effects on a textile based platform. The electrostatic and piezoelectric effects were hybridized by integrating piezoelectric ZnO nanowires and a charged dielectric film on a wearable textile substrate. The hybrid textile nanogenerator produced an output voltage of 8 V and an output current of 2.5 μA. Using a simple AC–DC converter circuit, we operated the green organic light-emitting diode and a liquid crystal display panel using a 10

Resistive switching memory that uses halide perovskites (HP) has been considered as next-generation storage devices due to low operation voltage and high on/off ratio. However, the memory still faces challenges for stable operation with fast switching speed, which hinders the practical application. Thus, it should be considered from the stage of designing the HP for memory applications. Here, we design the perovskite memory using a high-throughput screening based on first-principles calculations
High-performance optoelectronic synaptic transistors are reported with a long-term memory by using organic–inorganic halide perovskites and oxide semiconductors.
