15We present a selective review of statistical modeling of dynamic networks. We focus on models with latent variables, specifically, the latent space models and the latent class models (or stochastic blockmodels), which investigate both the observed features and the unobserved structure of networks. We begin with an overview of the static models, and then we introduce the dynamic extensions. For each dynamic model, we also discuss its applications that have been studied in the literature, with the
The increased usage of digital communication technologies has transformed online engagement into a key aspect of the modern customer experience in the hospitality industry. The flow theory is especially important for understanding customer engagement in the online environment. The purpose of this study is to examine the antecedents of flow and to investigate its influence on the positive attitudes and continuance intentions among the users of social media. The study’s results show that challenge
<p>The aims of the present study were to explore the effects of two different types of task conditions (topic choice vs. no choice) on the quality of written production in a second language (lexical complexity, syntactic complexity, and cohesion) and to investigate the effects of these two different task conditions on task motivation. This research was conducted by means of a task motivation questionnaire and a collation of the writings of 31 Korean college students learning English as a f
Background: Rg3, a major ginsenoside derived from heat-processed ginseng, has been reported to have anti-inflammatory andanti-proliferative activities. In our previous studies, Rg3 inhibited phorbol ester-induced cyclooxygenase-2 expression and NF-κBactivation in cultured human mammary epithelial (MCF-10A) cells and in mouse skin in vivo. In this study, we investigatedRg3-induced apoptosis in human breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) cells and underlying molecular mechanisms. Methods: After Rg3 treatment
Ginsenoside Rg3, one of the major ingredients of heat-processed ginseng, has been reported to inhibit the growth of various cancer cells. We previously reported that Rg3 inhibited the proliferation and induced apoptosis of breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) cells. In the present study, we have explored the mechanism underlying the anti-proliferative and proapoptotic effects of Rg3 in MDA-MB-231 cells, which have constitutively activated NF-κB and the mutant form of p53. Rg3 inhibited DNA binding and tra
Motivated by a study of United Nations voting behaviors, we introduce a regression model for a series of networks that are correlated over time. Our model is a dynamic extension of the additive and multiplicative effects network model (AMEN) of Hoff (2021). In addition to incorporating a temporal structure, the model accommodates two types of missing data thus allows the size of the network to vary over time. We demonstrate via simulations the necessity of various components of the model. We app

The purpose of this research was to study the affects of atmosphere and convenience attributes on restaurant selection of customers aged between 50 to 60, referred to as new seniors. A survey was conducted with questions including convenience and atmosphere attributes (5 factors, 24 questions), respondents’ dining-out behavior (6 questions), and general characteristics. For the analysis, SPSS 20.0 was used for the frequency analysis, factor analysis and ANOVA. The findings of this research are a
The government has implemented an off-site sequence analysis and risk management plans to prevent chemical accidents, but data related to shelters for systematic response to chemical accidents are insufficient. Accordingly, in January 2019, the government produced and distributed a comprehensive guide for residents notification and evacuation. However, it does not provide specific information about the shelter. in this study, four types of materials were selected from the Resident Evacuation Pro
This article argues for the significance of William Davenant’s preface to his epic Gondibert and Thomas Hobbes’s answer to it as testaments to the epochal changes in the theory of heroic poetry at the historical juncture of the English Civil War and Interregnum. I show two “Hobbesian” poetics of epic emerging from the Davenant-Hobbes encounter and how the distinct views of heroic poetry were alike in placing emphasis on the common people at the expense of the nobles as the traditional sponsors o
