이병철 교수의 연구실은 주로 인비트로 및 인비보에서의 정밀한 분자 영상 기반 진단 기술 개발을 핵심으로 삼고 있습니다. 특히 18F 및 99mTc를 활용한 양방향 영상제제(다이애그노스틱 및 치료용)의 합성과 응용에 집중하며, 심장 질환, 뇌 질환, 종양 등에서의 염증 반응과 대사 변화를 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 방사성 라벨링 기법을 개발하고 있습니다. 또한, 고도로 선택적인 방사성 화합물 합성 반응(예: 방사성 플루오르화, 데플루오르보릴화)과 이들의 임상적 응용 가능성을 탐색하고 있습니다.
