연구실 소개

오동찬 교수의 연구실은 해양 및 기생성 미생물에서 유래한 생활밀착형 자연물의 구조 규명과 생물학적 활성을 중심으로 연구를 전개하고 있습니다. 특히, 해양 기생충류와 곤충의 공생 미생물에서 새로운 항균·항진균 물질을 도출하고, 이들이 형성하는 고유한 생합성 경로와 생물학적 기작을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 연구는 주로 스펙트럼 분석, 구조 유도, 절대 입체화학 결정을 기반으로 하며, 신약 개발 잠재성을 지닌 고유한 자연계 화합물을 지속적으로 발견하고 있습니다.

A mutualist actinomycete of the southern pine beetle, Dendroctonus frontalis, produces a polyene peroxide with pronounced antifungal activity. Sceliphrolactam, a Polyene Macrocyclic Lactam from a Wasp-Associated <i>Streptomyces</i> sp.

A previously unreported 26-membered polyene macrocyclic lactam, sceliphrolactam, was isolated from an actinomycete, Streptomyces sp., associated with the mud dauber, Sceliphron caementarium. Sceliphrolactam's structure was determined by 1D- and 2D-NMR, MS, UV, and IR spectral analysis. Sceliphrolactam displays antifungal activity against amphotericin B-resistant Candida albicans (MIC = 4 μg/mL, 8.3 μM).

[structure: see text] Two new cyclic peptides, thalassospiramides A and B (1 and 2), were isolated from a new member of the marine alpha-proteobacterium Thalassospira. The thalassospiramides, the structures of which were assigned by combined spectral and chemical methods, bear unusual gamma-amino acids and show immunosuppressive activity in an interleukin-5 production inhibition assay (IC50 = 5 muM for thalassospiramide B).
