연구실 소개
이동석 교수의 연구실은 심혈관계 질환, 특히 폐동맥고혈압(PAH)과 대사증후군의 병태생리적 기전을 규명하고자 하며, 특히 심장의 좌심실 기능 저하와 폐혈관 병변에 영향을 주는 생물학적 마커 및 약물 치료 전략을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 비만, 내장지방 축적, 근육량 감소와 같은 대사적 위험 인자들이 대사증후군 예측에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지에 대한 메커니즘 연구도 함께 수행하고 있습니다. 또한, 염증 반응과 면역 조절을 연계한 소장 및 식도 림프종 등의 희귀 악성 종양의 진단 및 치료 전략 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Obesity, visceral adiposity, and sarcopenia showed additive effects on MS prediction. Subjects with obesity, visceral adiposity, or sarcopenia were significantly associated with the increased risk of MS after adjustment for multiple confounders. Increasing skeletal muscle and reducing visceral fat may be strategies for the prevention or treatment of MS.
CCL28 could be useful for diagnosing UC. However, further validations of CCL28 on disease activity and severity are needed.

There are many reports about causes of corrosive agents such as acids and alkaline and occasionally hot food in either liquid or solid forms as causes of upper gastrointestinal mucosal injury. However, there have been no reports on bowel preparation solutions as a cause of upper gastrointestinal injury. Droplets released from the mouth of a COVID-19 infected patient are an important source of infection [1]. Currently, gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy preventative guidelines have been developed based on cough models with droplet travel distances of over 2 m [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. However, the droplet-related studies reported so far have mostly focused on cough models related to respiratory disease. Thus far, no studies have been conducted on droplets generated during GI endoscopic examinations.
