15In this brief, we consider reactive power and DC voltage tracking control of a three-phase voltage source converter (VSC). This control problem is important in many power system applications including power factor correction for a distribution static synchronous compensator (D-STATCOM). Traditional approaches to this problem are often based on a linearized model of the VSC and proportional-integral (PI) feedback. In order to improve performance, a flatness-based tracking control for the VSC is p
Massive DNA sequencing studies have expanded our insights and understanding of the ecological and functional characteristics of the gut microbiome. Advanced sequencing technologies allow us to understand the close association of the gut microbiome with human health and critical illnesses. In the future, analyses of the gut microbiome will provide key information associating with human individual health, which will help provide personalized health care for diseases. Numerous molecular biological
Recently, the concept of personalized nutrition has been developed, which states that food components do not always lead to the same metabolic responses, but vary from person to person. Although this concept has been studied based on individual genetic backgrounds, researchers have recently explored its potential role in the gut microbiome. The gut microbiota physiologically communicates with humans by forming a bidirectional relationship with the micronutrients, macronutrients, and phytochemica
Jeotgal is a traditional Korean seafood fermented by indigenous microbes. The bacterial community in five myeolchi-jeot (Engraulis japonica), five meongge-jeot (Halocynthia roretzi), and six saeu-jeot (Acetes japonicas) produced in South Korea was analyzed by barcoded pyrosequencing targeting the V1/V2 hyper-variable regions of the 16S rRNA gene. All samples were dominated by the phyla Firmicutes, which represented 67.7% (SD = 27.2%) of the population. Tetragenococcus halophilus and Tetragenococ
This paper demonstrates a programmable pulse width shift register using depletion mode oxide TFTs for high resolution and high frame rate displays. The proposed shift register is adopted for a pre-charging scheme in a multi-frame-rate display panel because the gate pulse width is programmable only by adjusting the start pulse width without any additional clock signals and reconfiguration of interconnection. To cope with the depletion-mode issue that TFTs are turned on even at zero gate-source vo
Abstract This paper proposes a programmable pulse width shift register where an output pulse width is adjusted only by changing a start pulse width without any additional signals and reconfiguration for the pre‐charging scheme of high resolution and high frame rate active‐matrix flat‐panel displays. In addition, the overall power consumption of a proposed circuitry is dramatically reduced by alleviating the shoot‐through current of an interval inverter, compared with the previous shift registers
This letter demonstrates a shift register circuit at the backplane of depletion mode oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs), which can cover variable frame rates for low-power active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) displays. The proposed scheme focuses on the stable gate control of a pull-up TFT by securing the charging and discharging paths at the wide operating frequency range. In a prototype high-definition (HD: 1366 × 768) AMOLED panel, it is ensured that fabricated shift registers
Although drugs have been reported to modulate the gut microbiota, the effects of anti-obesity drugs on the gut microbiota remain unclear. Lorcaserin (LS) and phentermine (PT) are commonly used anti-obesity drugs. However, to our best knowledge, no studies have simultaneously assessed the effects of LS and PT on obesity and gut microbiota. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the anti-obesity effects of LS and PT and re-modulation of host gut microbiota. To test hypothesis, we fed
Despite the effects of CD4+ T cell dysfunction on cognitive and behavioral impairment are well established, the effects of Th2 cytokines on the adult hippocampal neurogenesis and cognitive function in restricted CD4+ T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire model have not been fully elucidate. We found that mice with restricted CD4+ repertoire TCR showed decreased adult hippocampal neurogenesis using OT-II mice. Moreover, we demonstrated that OT-II mice showed increased Th2 cytokine levels in peripheral
Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease caused by excessive body fat and has become a global public health problem. Evidence suggests that obesity and obesity-induced metabolic disorders are closely related to gut microbiota. Bupropion (BP), an antidepressant medicine, and Ephedra sinica Stapf [Ephedraceae; Ephedrae Herba], a herbal medicine, are sympathetic stimulants and have weight loss effects. However, to our best knowledge, no studies have simultaneously assessed the effects of drugs
