Professor Hyo-Gyoung Kwak's research lab specializes in nondestructive evaluation and mechanical behavior of construction materials, with a focus on ultrasonic testing and fresh concrete consolidation. The lab develops advanced experimental and numerical techniques to assess material properties, durability, and structural performance in concrete and mortar systems. Key research directions include wave attenuation measurement using ultrasonic methods, plastic settlement behavior of fresh concrete, and the influence of mix proportions, reinforcement geometry, and cover depth on material behavior.
