연구실 소개

김현진 교수의 연구실은 대사체학을 기반으로 한 생물학적 질병 메커니즘과 식물의 대사 조절을 동시에 다루는 융합 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 비만 및 알츠하이머병과 같은 대사성 질환에서의 대사 변화를 질량분석 및 대사체 분석 기법을 통해 규명하며, 동시에 허브 식물인 바질의 항산화 물질 강화를 위한 환경 스트레스와 호르몬 처리(예: 메틸조르몬산, 케이소단)의 영향을 식물 대사 조절 관점에서 연구하고 있습니다. 특히, 생리활성 성분의 증가를 유도하는 생물학적 전략을 식물 생장과 연계하여 실용적 응용 가능성을 모색하고 있습니다.

Hepatic fat fraction (HFF) was measured in 28 lean/obese humans by single-voxel proton spectroscopy (MRS), a two-point Dixon (2PD), and a three-point iterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation (IDEAL) method (3PI). For the lean, obese, and total subject groups, the range of HFF measured by MRS was 0.3-3.5% (1.1 +/- 1.4%), 0.3-41.5% (11.7 +/- 12.1), and 0.3-41.5% (10.1 +/- 11.6%), respectively. Antioxidant activity of Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil (TTO) was determined using two different assays.
