연구실 소개
김현 교수의 연구실은 주로 세포 사멸, 신경세포 및 뇌 기능, 미세환경이 세포 기능에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 조혈세포의 생존과 분화, 미세소관 관련 단백질의 기능, 뇌내 염증 반응 및 혈관 형성에 영향을 주는 신경영화성 인자(BDNF)의 역할에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 이는 향후 신경퇴행성 질환 및 만성 질환의 치료 전략 개발에 기여할 수 있습니다. 또한 식물의 미생물군집 형성 메커니즘과도 연계된 생태학적·진화적 접근을 통해 생물-환경 상호작용의 기초를 탐구하고 있습니다.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is expressed by endothelial cells. The present study suggests that serum IL-6 levels of patients with AD might be higher than those of subjects with MCI and healthy controls. Serum TNF-α and IL-6 levels might be negatively correlated with cognitive function, and we suspect that serum IL-6 levels could be biomarkers for AD.
