연구실 소개

곽효원 교수의 연구실은 농업 부산물인 실크 세리신과 라이그닌을 활용한 환경 친화적 고체 흡착제를 개발하며, 특히 수중에 존재하는 hexavalent 크롬(크롬(VI)) 제거에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한 자연 실크의 스핀닝 메커니즘에서 세리신이 섬유소성 단백질인 피브로인의 자가 조립에 미치는 영향을 생체재료의 상분리 현상과 연계해 규명하고 있으며, 어류 젤라틴을 이용한 전기스핀닝 기반 약물 전달 시스템을 통해 빠른 약물 방출을 실현하고자 합니다. 이와 같은 연구는 지속 가능한 재료 개발과 환경·의료 분야의 혁신을 동시에 추구합니다.

In the present study, novel adsorbents having high adsorption capability and reusability were prepared using agricultural by-products: silk sericin and lignin. Silk sericin and lignin blend beads were successfully prepared using simple coagulation methods for the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) from aqueous solution.
