연구실 소개
범재원 교수의 연구실은 척추건강과 관절질환의 기전 규명을 중심으로, 척추통증과 골관절염의 생물학적 기전에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 근육의 등척성 및 동척성 수축 기능 저하와 연골 손상 간의 연관성, 미토콘드리아 기능 이상과 산화 스트레스가 관절염 진행에 미치는 영향을 분자생물학적·분자유전자 기법을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 또한 나노입자를 활용한 유전자 치료 전략 개발을 통해 골관절염의 예방 및 치료 신약 개발에 기여하고자 합니다.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disorder that has had an increasing prevalence due to the aging of the population. Recent studies have concluded that OA progression is related to oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS are produced at low levels in articular chondrocytes, mainly by the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase, and ROS production and oxidative stress have been found to be elevated in patients with OA.
