Professor Jae-Yong Park's research lab focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and neurodegenerative disorders, with a particular emphasis on apoptosis-related genes, microRNAs, and signaling pathways. The lab investigates genetic polymorphisms (e.g., CASP-9, COX-2) and microbial dysbiosis (e.g., gastric microbiome) in relation to cancer susceptibility and progression. Additionally, the lab explores the role of key regulatory proteins such as 14-3-3γ in neural development and brain disorders, as well as the functional impact of alternative splicing isoforms like nCLU in cell death regulation.
