이지은 교수의 연구실은 대사질환과 노화 관련 질환의 생물학적 기전을 밝히는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 간과 체지방에서의 지방산 산화 메타볼리즘, 히스톤 변형, 그리고 단백질 분해 조절 메커니즘을 중심으로, 체내 에너지 균형 유지와 대사 질환 예방의 분자 기전을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한, 신경퇴행성 질환과의 연관성도 탐색하며, 임상적 예후 지표로 활용 가능한 생물학적 마커의 규명에도 기여하고 있습니다.
