15We have developed biocompatible, photostable, and multiplexing-compatible surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopic tagging material (SERS dots) composed of silver nanoparticle-embedded silica spheres and organic Raman labels for cellular cancer targeting in living cells. SERS dots showed linear dependency of Raman signatures on their different amounts, allowing their possibility for the quantification of targets. In addition, the antibody-conjugated SERS dots were successfully applied to the targeti
Poly(1-methylimidazoliummethyl styrene)-surface grafted-poly(styrene) resin was prepared for the first time as a polymer-supported N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursor for palladium complex by suspension polymerization. To prepare this polymer-supported NHC precursor, 1-methyl-3-(4-vinylbenzyl)imidazolium hexafluorophosphate, [MVBIM][PF6-], was synthesized as a monomer and copolymerized with styrene and DVB in water. This polymer-supported NHC precursor with imidazolium as a ligand, which exis
Sepsis is an aberrant systemic inflammatory response mediated by excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS). Developing an efficient antioxidant therapy for sepsis <i>via</i> scavenging ROS and RNS remains a big challenge owing to the insufficient activity and sustainability of conventional antioxidants. Herein, biocompatible transition-metal dichalcogenide antioxidants with excellent scavenging activity and sustainability for H2O2</
Abstract For the effective application of surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanoprobes for in vivo targeting, the tissue transparency of the probe signals should be as high as it can be in order to increase detection sensitivity and signal reproducibility. Here, near‐infrared (NIR)‐sensitive SERS nanoprobes (NIR SERS dots) are demonstrated for in vivo multiplex detection. The NIR SERS dots consist of plasmonic Au/Ag hollow‐shell (HS) assemblies on the surface of silica nanospheres and sim
Abstract Fine control over the physicochemical structures of carbon electrocatalysts is important for improving the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in rechargeable Zn–air batteries. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are considered good candidate carbon materials because their structures can be precisely controlled. However, it remains a challenge to impart bifunctional electrocatalytic activities for both the ORR and OER to COFs. Herein, a pyridine‐l
Precise control over doping of photocatalysts is required to modulate their photocatalytic activity in visible light‐driven reactions. Here, a single precursor‐employing bottom‐up approach is developed to produce different heteroatom‐doped graphene quantum dots (GQDs) with unique photocatalytic activities. The solvothermal reaction of a norepinephrine precursor with redox active and condensable moieties effectively produces both nitrogen/sulfur codoped GQDs (NS‐GQDs) and nitrogen‐doped GQDs (N‐G
In patients with suspected recurrent CRC, in-line PET/CT significantly improves staging compared with PET alone. Due to its high failure rate, software fusion of independently acquired PET and CT studies cannot be considered to represent an alternative to in-line PET/CT.
Organic solid electrolytes offer an effective route for safe and high-energy-density all-solid-state Li metal batteries. However, it remains a challenge to devise a new strategy to promote the dissociation of strong ion pairs and the transport of ionic components in organic solid electrolytes. Herein, a zwitterionic covalent organic framework (Zwitt-COF) with well-defined chemical and pore structures is prepared as a solid electrolyte capable of accelerating the dissociation and transport of Li
Take the tube: The title conjugate provides spatiotemporal information of ATP in living cells by a two-step fluorescence quenching mechanism. OxyLrin, which is generated enzymatically in the reaction between ATP and D-luciferin (Lrin), is adsorbed onto the nanotubes and quenches their fluorescence (see picture). The sensor is highly selective toward ATP.
