Professor Jungchan Park's research lab focuses on perioperative medicine and cardiovascular outcomes, with a particular emphasis on myocardial injury after noncardiac surgery (MINS), perioperative glucose metabolism, and the impact of pharmacological agents such as statins and NSAIDs on postoperative mortality and morbidity. The lab investigates biomarkers like high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) and clinical predictors such as preoperative glucose and HbA1c levels to improve risk stratification and patient outcomes. Additionally, the lab explores the role of transcription factors like NFAT in immune and inflammatory responses, linking molecular mechanisms to clinical disease outcomes.
