Figures are computed from collected data and may differ slightly.
Although the analysis included EVAR with poor anatomy, the perioperative mortality rate was acceptable compared with that in previous large population studies.
The post-implantation configuration changes in stent placement in AAA patients with SAN were different for Excluder and Zenith. Appropriate device selection and proper planning of the procedure is necessary for EVAR.
Off-label usage regarding aneurysmal neck length and angle tends to be incomplete without additional procedures. Conversely, various techniques, including non-compliant balloon usage and aortic stenting or cuffs, produce good results for the intraoperative type I EL. We found a relationship between the neck condition and the intraoperative type I EL, and showed the importance of strictly obeying our simple algorithm against the proximal type I EL.
The object of the study is to determine the long-term outcomes of surgical treatment of patients with popliteal artery entrapment syndrome at a single institute. We retrospectively reviewed 19 limbs of 16 consecutive patients who underwent surgery for popliteal artery entrapment syndrome at our hospital over the past 36 years. The popliteal artery was stenotic in 11 limbs, occlusive in 7 limbs, and compressed and deviated by the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle but not damaged in 1 limb.
The life and limb prognoses of patients with CLI and HD were worse than those of non-HD patients. There was no difference in surgical outcomes suggested by the graft patency rates between the 2 groups. AFS in WIfI stage 4 was significantly worse in the HD group, which indicated the importance of preoperative limb status. (Circ J 2016; 80: 2382-2387).
Urgency was strongly associated with mortality, stroke, and paraplegia, and the classification of urgent and emergent, according to the surgical timing after admission, successfully stratified the population in the long-term overall survival analysis. A proximal landing zone involving the aortic arch and debranching bypasses were associated with the occurrence of stroke, and the length of stent graft coverage for six or more zones was associated with paraplegia. Identifying these risk factors wi
The outcomes of the 2 groups were similar, indicating that intraoperative renal ischemia with no specific intraoperative protection would not adversely affect postoperative outcomes.
In this study, bicycle exercise training improved the QOL and walking distance and decreased hip movement. The results showed that bicycling might be as useful as walking in patients with PAD.
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life-threatening disease. However, no systemically injectable drug has been approved for AAA treatment due to low bioavailability. Polymeric micelles are nanomedicines that have the potential to improve therapeutic efficacy by selectively delivering drugs into disease sites, and research has mainly focused on cancer treatments. Here, we developed a statin-loaded polymeric micelle to treat AAAs in rat models. The micelle showed medicinal efficacy by preventing
TetraStat has a high hemostatic ability. A porous PEG sponge soaked with TetraStat is a useful choice for effective hemostasis during massive hemorrhage.
Outcomes of EVAR were considered acceptable in the O-IFU group. Careful follow-up is necessary considering the morphological changes in AAAs after EVAR.
