Keita Kohno教授の研究室は、神経障害性疼痛の回復メカニズムに注目し、脊髄におけるCD11c発現マクロファージ的ミクログリア(CD11c⁺ミクログリア)の役割を解明しています。特に、IGF1シグナルを介した疼痛回復の分子機構や、IL-4がCD11c⁺ミクログリアを誘導することで疼痛が軽減されることを明らかにしています。この研究は、疼痛が「警報」ではなく「疾患」として持続する仕組みを解き明かし、新しい疼痛治療薬の開発に貢献する基盤を築いています。
