연구실 소개

김컨위영 교수의 연구실은 뼈 형성과 대사 조절 메커니즘을 중심으로, 전사 인자 CBFa1과 Runx2를 통한 TGF-β 수용체 조절, C/EBPdelta의 골세포 내 기능, 그리고 산화 스트레스 조절 단백질인 EGPx의 기능 등 뼈세포의 기능과 조절 전사 네트워크를 규명하고자 합니다. 특히 호르몬(코르티코이드)과 성장인자 간의 상호작용, 세포외 기질 형성 메커니즘에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 이는 뼈 질환 치료 전략 개발에 기여합니다. 최근에는 안과 수술 기법 개발을 통해 임상적 응용 가능성도 확장하고 있습니다.

Glucocorticoid in excess suppresses bone formation in vivo and disrupts bone matrix protein synthesis by osteoblasts in vitro. Extracellular glutathione peroxidase (EGPx) is a glycosylated selenoprotein capable of reducing hydrogen peroxide, organic hydroperoxides, free fatty acid hydroperoxides, and phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxides.
