内因性に生成される反応性アルデヒド、特に4-ヒドロキシノネナール(HNE)やアクロレインは、脂質過酸化によるタンパク質修飾を引き起こし、酸化的な損傷のバイオマーカーとしての役割を果たす。研究室では、これらの反応性脂質分解生成物がタンパク質に結合する化学機構や、その細胞内シグナル伝達への影響を分子レベルで解明している。特に、HNEやメチルグリオキサールが酵素阻害や遺伝子発現調節に与える影響を、タンパク質修飾の構造的・機能的側面から解析している。
