Masahiro Osakabe教授の研究室は、農業害虫として重要な二ホットミツバチ(Tetranychus urticae)をモデルとして、紫外線ストレスへの適応メカニズムやアセスカイド抵抗性の遺伝的基盤を解明する研究を行っています。特に、葉の下部に分布する傾向と紫外線B(UVB)への耐性の関係、および新しい殺虫剤に対する耐性の遺伝的特性に注目しています。また、環境ストレスに対する生理的・遺伝的応答のメカニズムを、分子生物学的手法と野外実験を融合して解明しています。
