Hypercoagulability and Mortality of Patients with Stroke and Active Cancer: The OASIS-CANCER Study
Mi Ji Lee, Jong‐Won Chung, Myung‐Ju Ahn, Seonwoo Kim, Jin Myoung Seok, Hye Min Jang, Gyeong‐Moon Kim, Chin‐Sang Chung, Kwang Ho Lee, Oh Young Bang
SJR Q1FWCI 7.6Journal of StrokeOA

Hypercoagulability is associated with poor survival after stroke in patients with active cancer. Effective correction of hypercoagulability may play a protective role for survival in these patients.

SJR Q1FWCI 12.2The Journal of Headache and PainOA

CM patients have a stronger connectivity in the pain matrix than do EM patients. Functional alteration of the pain network might play a role in migraine chronification.

Synergistic Effects of Ischemia and β-Amyloid Burden on Cognitive Decline in Patients With Subcortical Vascular Mild Cognitive Impairment

Most patients with svMCI do not exhibit substantial amyloid burden, and CVD does not increase β-amyloid burden as measured by amyloid imaging. However, in patients with svMCI, amyloid burden and white matter hyperintensity act synergistically to impair visuospatial function. Therefore, our findings highlight the need for accurate biomarkers, including neuroimaging tools, for early diagnosis and the need to relate these biomarkers to cognitive measurements for effective use in the clinical settin

Feasibility of serum CGRP measurement as a biomarker of chronic migraine: a critical reappraisal

SJR Q1FWCI 5.9The Journal of Headache and PainOA

Serum CGRP concentration may not be a feasible biomarker for chronic migraine. Further validation is necessary before CGRP can be used in the clinical practice.

SJR Q1FWCI 7.4Cephalalgia

Cluster headache attack carries a high suicidality compared to the interictal or between-bouts state. An intensive treatment to reduce cluster headache burden may be helpful to alleviate suicide risk in cluster headache patients.

The Migraine–Stroke Connection
Mi Ji Lee, Chungbin Lee, Chin‐Sang Chung
SJR Q1FWCI 5.6Journal of StrokeOA

Migraine and stroke are common neurovascular disorders which share underlying physiological processes. Increased risks of ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and subclinical ischemic lesions have been consistently found in migraineurs. Three possible associations are suggested. One is that underlying pathophysiology of migraine can lead to ischemic stroke. Second, common comorbidities between migraine and stroke can be present. Lastly, some syndromes can manifest with both migraine-like headach

Epidemiology, burden and clinical spectrum of cluster headache: a global update
Seung Ae Kim, Soyoun Choi, Michelle Sojung Youn, Patricia Pozo‐Rosich, Mi Ji Lee
SJR Q1FWCI 10.9CephalalgiaOA

Cluster headache may be more than a "trigeminal autonomic headache" because it involves complex central nervous system phenomena. The spectrum of attacks and bouts is wider than previously recognised. Cluster headache is a dynamic disorder that evolves or regresses over time.

Dynamic functional connectivity of the migraine brain: a resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging study
Mi Ji Lee, Bo‐yong Park, Soohyun Cho, Hyunjin Park, Sungtae Kim, Chin‐Sang Chung
SJR Q1FWCI 3.2Pain

Migraine headache is an episodic phenomenon, and patients with episodic migraine have ictal (headache), peri-ictal (premonitory, aura, and postdrome), and interictal (asymptomatic) phases. We aimed to find the functional characteristics of the migraine brain regardless of headache phase using dynamic functional connectivity analysis. We prospectively recruited 50 patients with migraine and 50 age- and sex-matched controls. All subjects underwent a resting-state functional magnetic resonance imag

Role of Statin in Atrial Fibrillation-Related Stroke: An Angiographic Study for Collateral Flow

SJR Q2FWCI 3.5Cerebrovascular Diseases

Premorbid use of statin in AF patients is associated with excellent collateral flow. Although most statin trials excluded patients with cardioembolic stroke, our data suggests the possibility that statin may be beneficial in AF-related stroke

Real-world efficacy of galcanezumab for the treatment of migraine in Korean patients
Soonwook Kwon, Young‐Eun Gil, Mi Ji Lee
SJR Q1FWCI 6.6Cephalalgia

In our cohort, the effectiveness and safety of galcanezumab were comparable with those reported in clinical trials, whereas a higher response rate was observed in the difficult-to-treat patient subset than that reported in trials. We provide real-world evidence of galcanezumab treatment benefits in Asian patients with migraine.

Cerebrovascular reactivity as a determinant of deep white matter hyperintensities in migraine

SJR Q1FWCI 3.5Neurology

In this study, we found a migraine-specific association between a reduced CVR to apnea and increased number of deep WMHs in healthy, nonelderly patients with migraine. A dysfunctional vascular response to apnea may predispose migraineurs to an increased risk of WMHs.

Collateral status is associated with more severe Tmax delays than previously defined. The present Tmax severity-weighted model can determine good collaterals and subsequent infarct growth.
