연구실 소개
권오기 교수의 연구실은 뇌혈관 질환의 내시적 치료에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 복잡한 형태의 뇌동맥류에 대한 스텐트 보조 또는 이중 마이크로카테터를 활용한 코일 임플란트 기법 등 혁신적인 혈관내 치료 기법 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 또한 급성 뇌경색에서의 혈전용해 치료를 보조하는 내동맥주사용 abciximab의 임상적 유용성과 뇌혈관 조영 검사 시 금식이 필요 없는지에 대한 연구를 통해 진료의 안전성과 효율성을 높이고자 합니다. 장기적인 치료 결과와 혈관 재관류 정도를 정량적으로 평가하는 분석 기법 개발도 연구의 핵심 분야입니다.

15Our experience with 25 cerebral aneurysm patients shows that the technique of using two microcatheters is feasible and safe for coil embolization of aneurysms with unfavorable configurations. Although the lack of angiographic follow-up prevents us from drawing conclusions about its effectiveness as compared with other techniques such as stent placement and balloon-neck protection, we believe that this technique offers a reliable alternative for endovascular therapy of complicated aneurysms.

The intravenous administration of abciximab can be used as an adjuvant therapy to facilitate thrombolysis for acute cerebrovascular occlusion. The incidence of nausea and vomiting associated with cerebral angiography is low and not affected by diet or fasting. Pulmonary aspiration had no difference between the diet and the fasting group. Our study suggests that fasting may not be necessary for patients who undergo elective cerebral angiography.

ICA flow arrest due to filter occlusion during CAS is relatively common and occurs more frequently in severe stenosis. It resolves rapidly after filter removal and does not appear to worsen outcome.
Our results suggest that autologous fibroblasts delivered with platinum coils could promote the organization of intra-aneurysmal thrombus. Although further research is needed, especially on the potential complications, endovascular treatment using autologous fibroblasts may be applied to aneurysm treatment.
