15The prominent CVSs on SWI can be indicative of acute thromboembolic occlusion and its change immediately after recanalization can be used to reflect the metabolic status. After recanalization, the appearance of the equal CVS (return to normal) on SWI was associated with a favorable clinical outcome and infarction was avoided in our small series study.
Early reocclusion is a major concern associated with poor clinical outcomes in patients with an ischemic cerebral stroke. This occurs most frequently in patients with partial initial recanalization. This study focuses on partial recanalization with stagnant antegrade flow after intravenous (IV) tPA or spontaneously, treated with the administration of intra-arterial (IA) tirofiban. Three patients with initial M1 occlusion on diagnostic studies had an occluded segment that was recanalized with sta
We showed that when serum CRP level is high, IRI results in multiple miRNA profile changes not only in ischemic areas but also in non-ischemic myocardium. Our results may provide a strong basis for studying the role of CRP and miRNAs in ischemic heart disease.
AAA showed a characteristic deposition of mCRP, and multiple potentially pathologic signaling pathways were upregulated in AAA cases with strong CRP immunopositivity. mCRP and the aforementioned pathological pathways may serve as targets for managing the progression of AAA.
This study aimed to investigate the clinical implication of surgical resection for the malignancies of heart and great vessels. Between January 2001 and May 2011, a retrospective review of the results in 12 patients was conducted. There were 6 patients with primary cardiac tumor including leiomyosarcoma, angiosarcoma, undifferentiated type sarcoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma. The remaining 6 patients had the metastatic tumors or adjacent invasion to the heart and great vessels. Six of sev
These results strongly suggest the active participation of the deposition of CRP on AAR in the progression of myocardial infarction following ischaemia-reperfusion injury, accompanied by complement activation and mitochondrial change.
ABSTRACT Background Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a potentially lethal condition that often remains asymptomatic until it ruptures. Recent research suggests that immune-inflammatory processes are associated with AAA development, yet the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Serum C-reactive protein (CRP) serves as a prognostic marker for AAA and various cardiovascular diseases. When CRP accumulates in damaged tissues, it transforms into a monomeric form, exacerbating tissue damage. Our previous
Heart failure (HF), particularly acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), remains a significant health challenge, with limited long‐term therapeutic options to alleviate congestion and improve cardiac function. Pharmacological treatments focus on reducing congestion, but many patients are discharged with persistent symptoms, leading to poor outcomes. Current device‐based solutions, such as balloon catheters, offer some relief from fluid overload but require hospitalization, a driveline, and dir
Background: We present our 12-year experience of pulmonary thromboendarterectomy in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Materials and Methods: Between January 1999 and March 2011, 16 patients underwent pulmonary thromboendarterectomy. Eleven patients (69%) were classified as functional class III or IV based on the New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification. Seven patients had a history of inferior vena cava filter insertion, and 5 patients showed coagulation disord
Abstract Objective The molecular mechanisms of the degeneration of the aortic wall in abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) are poorly understood. The monomeric form of C-reactive protein (mCRP) is deposited in damaged cardiovascular organs and aggravates the prognosis; however, it is unknown whether mCRP is deposited in the degenerated aorta of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). We investigated whether mCRP is deposited in AAA and examined the associated pathogenic signaling pathways. Methods Twenty-fo
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) progression carries a significant rupture risk, demanding accurate prediction models beyond traditional methods that rely on limited clinical parameters and often overlook complex factor interplay. We aimed to enhance prediction by developing and validating an end-to-end multi-modal deep learning (DL) model that integrates features extracted using ResNet from computed tomography (CT) images, geometric features derived from radiomics based on CT annotations, and cl
