Seok Hoon Jeong 교수의 연구실은 항생제 내성 미생물, 특히 다제내성 편창균과 메탈로-베타 락타마제를 생산하는 병원성 박테리아의 유전자 기반 내성 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 카바페넴 내성 편창균, ESBL 및 OXA-형 베타 락타마제 유전자 등 항생제 내성 유전자들이 수평 유전자 전달을 통해 급속히 확산되는 메커니즘을 분석하고 있으며, MALDI-TOF MS 기반의 신속한 항생제 내성 진단 기술 개발도 함께 추진하고 있습니다. 이는 임상 현장에서의 빠른 진단과 내성 병원균의 전파 차단에 기여할 수 있습니다.

We investigated an outbreak caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii carrying the bla(OXA-23) gene.
