연구실 소개
변석수 교수의 연구실은 신장세포암과 같은 비만성 신장암의 치료 전략 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 로봇 및 복강경 수술을 통한 최소침습 수술 기법의 임상적 유효성과 안정성을 체계적으로 분석하고 있습니다. 또한, 환자 맞춤형 3D 신장 해부 모델을 활용한 수술 계획 및 의학 교육 프로그램 개발로 수술의 정밀도와 교육적 효과를 동시에 향상시키고 있습니다. 최근에는 기계학습 기반 예측 모델(예: 랜덤 서바이벌 숲, DeepSurv)을 활용해 비전이성 난세포형 신장세포암 환자의 재발 및 생존 예측 정확도를 높이는 데에도 주력하고 있습니다.

15Both increased glutathione content and GST activity are significant in the cisplatin resistance of human bladder tumour cells. Because BSO, ethacrynic acid and indomethacin caused a partial recovery of resistance in the cisplatin-resistant cell line, further studies are needed to investigate their efficacy for treating patients with metastatic bladder carcinoma resistant to cisplatin.
The personalized 3D renal model was revealed to significantly enhance the understanding of correct renal anatomy in patients with renal tumors in both urologist and student groups. These models can be useful for establishing the perioperative planning and also education program for medical students.
The laparoscopic and robotic approaches yielded better perioperative outcomes, such as less intraoperative bleeding, shorter hospital stays, less analgesic usage, and non-inferior oncological outcomes, compared with the open approach. Further prospective studies are needed to compare these surgical techniques.
• Despite the longer operative time, LRN was an effective and less invasive treatment option for clinical T2 renal tumors. It achieved a degree of cancer control similar to that obtained with ORN.
Survival analyses for malignancies, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), have primarily been conducted using the Cox proportional hazards (CPH) model. We compared the random survival forest (RSF) and DeepSurv models with the CPH model to predict recurrence-free survival (RFS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) in non-metastatic clear cell RCC (nm-cRCC) patients. Our cohort included 2139 nm-cRCC patients who underwent curative-intent surgery at six Korean institutions between 2000 and 2014. The
RPN performed in patients with highly complex renal tumors offers perioperative, functional, and oncologic outcomes comparable to those associated with OPN.
Renal function recovered continuously during the 60-month follow-up period after RN. However, the trends in functional recovery change were different according to various clinical factors and such information should be discussed with patients when being counselled about their treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

This study consists of an analysis of the results of simple retrograde balloon dilation in the treatment of ureteral strictures for the evaluation of the long-term efficacy of this procedure, and the factors affecting its success rate. Partial nephrectomy provides similar recurrence-free survival outcomes compared with radical nephrectomy in patients with clinical T1a pathological T3a renal cell carcinoma. However, there seems to be a higher risk of recurrence for large pathological T3a tumors treated by radical nephrectomy compared with small tumors treated by partial nephrectomy. Thus, large tumors with the same pathological T3a renal cell carcinoma grade could have hidden aggressive features.
