山田俊介教授の研究室は、慢性腎疾患(CKD)に合併する心血管疾患の発症メカニズムに注目し、特にリン代謝異常が血管石灰化や慢性炎症・栄養不良の悪化に与える影響を解明しています。腎機能障害における酸化的ストレスの役割や、栄養状態のバイオマーカーとしてのGNRIやクレアチニンインデックスの臨床的意義についても、臨床疫学的手法を用いて検証しています。CKD-MBDを軸に、多因子的かつ包括的な病態理解をめざした研究が進められています。
