阿部教授の研究室は、気候変動対策としてのエネルギー効率化と排出削減政策の経済的効果を、実証的・計量経済学的手法を用いて分析しています。特に、電力会社が負担する需要側管理(DSM)やエネルギー効率投資のコスト効率、東京排出量取引制度(Tokyo ETS)の実効性について、施設レベルのデータを活用した分析が特徴です。また、炭素価格や排出取引制度が企業行動に与える影響や、国際的なエネルギー市場の変動が気候政策に与える影響についても幅広く研究しています。
