김영식 교수의 연구실은 염증 반응과 세포 신호전달 경로를 타겟으로 한 신약 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 NF-κB 및 MAPK 신호 경로 조절을 통한 항염증 작용, 항산화 및 세포보호 기전을 규명하는 데 주력하고 있으며, 천연물에서 유래한 활성 성분(예: EGCG, 플라타코신 D, 아노말린 등)의 약리적 기전을 분자 수준에서 규명하고 있습니다. 이와 함께 산화 스트레스와 관련된 질환, 특히 눈의 혈관 신생 및 투과성 이상에 영향을 미치는 분자 기전에 대한 연구도 진행 중입니다.

4-Methyl-N1-(3-phenyl-propyl)-benzene-1,2-diamine (JSH-23) is a novel chemically synthetic compound. The aromatic diamine JSH-23 compound exhibited inhibitory effect with an IC(50) value of 7.1 microM on nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB transcriptional activity in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages RAW 264.7, and interfered LPS-induced nuclear translocation of NF-kappaB without affecting IkappaB degradation. A comprehensive treatment of the classical decay rates for a molecule in the vicinity of a spherical surface is presented through the application of the work of van der Pol and Bremmer and that of Fock. This theory takes full advantage of the Hertz vector formalism, which is mathematically simpler than the widely-adapted Lorenz-Mie approach which uses the complicated vector harmonic expansions. Results are obtained for both radiative and nonradiative transfer when the molecule is located outside
