Changes in Time Use and Depression After COVID-19: Examining the Differential Effects in Men and Women

이 연구의 목적은 코로나19 이후 시간 사용의 변화가 우울에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 시간 사용 변화의 효과가 성별에 따라 달라지는가를 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울시민을 대상으로 실시된 2020 서울서베이 시민조사 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 코로나19 이후 혼자 있는 시간이 늘어날수록 우울감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 함께 코로나19 이후 가족과 함께 보내는 시간 역시 점차 증가할수록 우울감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 코로나19 이후 혼자 보내는 시간의 변화가 우울감에 미치는 영향이 성별에 따라 다르다는 사실을 발견하였다. 남성이 여성에 비해 혼자 있는 시간이 늘어날수록 우울감에 미치는 부정적인 영향이 더 커지는 양상을 보였다. 반면, 가족과 함께 보내는 시간의 변화가 우울감에 미치는 영향력은 성별에 따라 달라지는 양상이 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 이 연구는 코로나19 이후 혼자 보내는 시간과 가족과 함께 보내는 시간 모두 급격히 증가함에 따
