研究室紹介

Professor Bhupendra Kumar Singh's research lab specializes in the design and development of advanced functional materials for environmental sustainability and nuclear waste management. The lab focuses on creating durable inorganic matrices, such as glasses and ceramics, for the immobilization of long-lived radionuclides from nuclear waste, as well as engineering porous materials like metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolites, and hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) for selective gas adsorption and catalytic applications. A key research direction involves enhancing the performance of clay-based sorbents through modification for efficient radionuclide sequestration. The lab also explores nanostructured catalysts, particularly metal nanoparticles supported on porous frameworks, for clean energy and environmental remediation technologies.

SJR Q1ACS ES&T Engineering

The immobilization of long-lived radionuclide wastes generated from nuclear power plants (NPPs) during NPP operation, fuel reprocessing, and decommissioning of nuclear reactors is of great environmental concern. Designing suitable matrices with high durability, stability, and resistivity to various physical and chemical conditions (temperature, pressure, radiation, acidity/alkalinity, etc.) are required for the safe disposal and effective immobilization of radioactive wastes. In this review, we

SJR Q1Rare Metals

Abstract Metal nanoparticles (NPs) supported on porous materials have shown great advantages in many catalytic application fields. Supported metal NPs are receiving extensive attention due to their significant contribution in a wide range of current and future applications, and this is arguably one of the fastest growing research fields. In this review, we highlight various types of metal catalysts that possess great potential in several catalytic reactions. The major focus has been on metal oxi

A highly robust porous hydrogen-bonded organic framework (HOF) constructed by 4,4',4''-benzene-1,3,5-triyl-tris(benzoic acid) not only achieves the highest uptakes of ethylene and ethane among the HOF materials, but also exhibits unusual adsorption selectivity of C2H6 over other C2 gases. Besides, it exhibits the second highest acetylene uptake among all the reported HOF materials.

Synthesis of Single-Crystalline Mesoporous ZSM-5 with Three-Dimensional Pores via the Self-Assembly of a Designed Triply Branched Cationic Surfactant
Bhupendra Kumar Singh, Dongdong Xu, Lu Han, Jian Ding, Yimeng Wang, Shunai Che
SJR Q1Chemistry of Materials

A single-crystalline mesoporous ZSM-5 (SCMZ) with sheetlike pores, a uniform thickness of ∼2 nm, and a wide range of lengths (5–50 nm) along the a -axis and c -axis was synthesized using an amphiphilic template with three diquaternary ammonium-terminated alkyl chain branches that were bound to a benzene ring at positions 1, 3, and 5. The triply branched diquaternary ammonium head groups of the template broke the extension of the lamellar assembly along the a -axis and c -axis, which led to the f

Synthesis of Mesoporous Zeolites and Their Opportunities in Heterogeneous Catalysis

SJR Q2CatalystsOA

Currently, zeolites are one of the most important classes of heterogeneous catalysts in chemical industries owing to their unique structural characteristics such as molecular-scale size/shape-selectivity, heterogenized single catalytic sites in the framework, and excellent stability in harsh industrial processes. However, the microporous structure of conventional zeolite materials limits their applications to small-molecule reactions. To alleviate this problem, mesoporous zeolitic frameworks wer

Application of Clay Materials for Sorption of Radionuclides from Waste Solutions
Bhupendra Kumar Singh, Wooyong Um
SJR Q2MineralsOA

The wide application of nuclear resources in various fields has resulted in the production of radioactive waste, which poses a serious threat to lives and the environment. Nuclear waste contains long-lived radionuclides and, due to its mobility in environments, the proper management of generated waste is necessary. To impede the mobility of radionuclides in environments, various materials have been tested as suitable sorbents under different experimental conditions. In this review, we thoroughly

99 Technetium ( 99 Tc) is a hazardous radionuclide that poses a serious environmental threat. The wide variation and complex chemistries of liquid nuclear waste streams containing 99 Tc often create unique, site specific challenges when sequestering and immobilizing the waste in a matrix suitable for long-term storage and disposal. Therefore, an effective management plan for 99 Tc containing liquid radioactive wastes (such as storage (tanks) and decommissioned wastes) will likely require a varie

The sustainable energy supply to the global community remains a great challenge due to the mounting incessant energy demand and environmental concerns associated with fossil fuel-based energy. As per the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), nuclear power will be the only reliable sustainable energy source in the future, and there will be a high demand for uranium (U). Therefore, the exploitation of U from seawater is essential to supply nuclear energy for thousands of years globally. Herei
